Description

The Rubik's cube is coming back into fashion! Honest! No, really, I'm serious. I was in a $5 book shop and they had a whole crate of brand new Rubik's Cubes ready for the Christmas sales. So it must be so.

This is a small X11 app that lets you play with a simulated Rubik's cube. You can turn the cube, and rotate faces with either keystrokes, or by clicking buttons. It scales. It doesn't auto-solve. And, unless you hack the source, you can't start it in a particular state. However, using X translations, you can bind frequently-used sequences of moves to a single key. Keys 1 through 5 are predefined in the resource file with some standard short cut moves that let you flip cubes.

See also the official Rubik's Cube simulator, with 3D shading and auto-solving, which is way cool. However, it's in Java, while this program is just Athena X11.
